Abstract
Gifted education in China started from Western Han Dynasty (202 B.C.). Modern gifted education in high schools began with the establishment of highly able classes at China Science and Technology University. Tianyi High School of Jiangsu Province, located in Wuxi, one of the famous cities of China, has practised gifted education since 1980 and it has lasted for 23 years till now. For the past twenty years, Tianyi High School has explored the basic theoretical foundations and practical procedures for gifted education and undertaken some new experimentation in this field.
