Giftedness can be of many kinds. One of the most important but relatively neglected kinds is practical giftedness. Practical giftedness is distinct from schoolhouse or academic/analytical giftedness, on the one hand, and creative/productive giftedness, on the other. It is perhaps the most important kind of giftedness in adaptation to the everyday world. In this article, I describe what practical giftedness is and give examples of how to assess it.
