Abstract
First of all I would tike to express my gladness that while the difficult position of existing institutions is a general problem in Hungary, I can report on the experiences of the first two years of a new institute. As a result of long effort supported by the Budapest Municipal Local Government, the Budapest Institute of Education has really met a demand encountered ever since we have been dealing with the study of the gifted: a demand of patents for counseling and developing programs. Knowledge accumulating in the Center of Gifted serves as a ground for new investigations, and we pursue systematic data collecting for this purpose. Now — after a brief survey of the theoretical basis and the activity of the Center — I am going to summarize some experiences gained from interviews and talks with the parents in the Parents' Club.
