This article by Ashok Korwar continues the discussion of strategic issues in software exports (which was started in the July- September issue of Vikalpa) by analysing the structure of the global computer software industry in terms of major forces in each major segment of the market.
Based on the analysis of the strengths and weaknesses of the Indian software industry, the paper makes a case for Indian companies to enter into strategic alliances with major players in one important segment of the market — the Systems Management segment.
