Abstract
This paper reports the results of comparing the way European managers and Indian managers approach the challenges of the 80s in the running of their firms. Using the data collected by Eurosurvey from 150 managers in five EEC countries and by the author in Spain a Jist of 12 managerial qualities was prepared. Over 100 Indian managers were asked to prioritize the qualities. after having discussed how they perceived their firms at present and how they saw them in the second half of this decade. An interpretation of the various priority lists is proposed in terms of what appears to be common across nations and of wh2t is typical of each national group.
