Abstract
Indian legal system is a colonial heritage and of Victorian vintage but the constitution makes justice the highest imperative of freedom and entrusts judicial administration to an independent authority. The first, the colonial factor, drags the country back; the second spells the need for a revolution forward. If justice is an inalienable right of Indian masses, many radical changes in the delivery system of law are necessary.
