Abstract
This essay pays tribute to Dr Luis C. Moll through the experiences shared by a group of his Puerto Rican disciples in the Language, Reading and Culture program at the University of Arizona. The authors share their experiences with Dr Moll as a mentor, colleague and friend with stories that highlight Dr Moll’s commitment to his students, his Puerto Rican cultural identity, his ability to relate to diverse people and his commitment to education as a means of promoting social justice. In addition to his academic excellence, the authors celebrate Luis as a human being with extraordinary qualities.
