Abstract
Six subjects were selected for this study by multiple selection criteria: sociometric rating by peers, teacher rating, and direct observation of behavior in six social skills. The intervention consisted of social learning training and individual as well as group reinforcement. A multiple baseline design was used to observe for the effect of the intervention. The subjects' behavior was shaped in each specific skill area to approximate the rate of an average peer. The effect of the intervention was checked 4 weeks after the termination of the program. Social validation confirmed consumer satisfaction and indicated an increase in sociometric ranking and teacher rating.
