The development of coping skills plays a vital role in each child's mental health. This article first looks at the transaction among coping skills and environmental demands, then conflict development, and finally two paths to conflict resolution. The Triad Model is proposed as an alternative conceptual model for diagnosis and intervention with children experiencing emotional conflict.
