Abstract
This note provides an overview of the history, the objectives and the administrative scope of the recent French regularization program. It analyzes data obtained from a sample survey of employed immigrants in irregular status by demographic and labor market characteristics as well as by access to the country and employment history. The note makes special reference to three groups of foreigners: the young, women and Algerians.
