Field programs in which activities are carried out in scattered locations present special
problems for documenting program activities and outcomes. When used in conjunction
with other data collection methods, "activity logs" filled out by program participants can
provide information which might otherwise be difficult to obtain. An example is presented of the successful use of such logs in one program, and suggestions are made for
adapting this data collection device to other types of programs and for maximizing the
utility of the information thus obtained.
