Creatin a Climate for Learning: Making the Classroom More Like an Ideal Home

Abstract

Because students with the most problems rarely experience success in school, they feel they have little or no control over what happens to them. What these students Learn about themselves in school may be as important as any content knowtedge. Because the classroom fosters both personal growth and academic learning, it can enrich the lives of all students, and may give those students who have the least support outside school their only chance to build a future.
