Abstract
When I first ascended to the principalship I planned to be there 20 years. It was the only job I'd ever wanted. After a cou ple of years I came into my office and I just looked at the chair and I said, "Do I really imagine that I'm going to be sitting there for 17 more years?" I felt the bottom falling out. It had decayed out, or maybe it was never as substantial as I thought it was.
