Here's a case study of the factors that influenced one district to make changes in the policies and proce dures for calculating grade point aver age and rank-in-class. The study was conducted in a district with two high schools and approximately 3,400 stu dents, in a middle and upper middle class multi-ethnic suburban area in which a large percentage of students attend four-year colleges and univer sities.
