Abstract
Schools adopt extended year calendars for a variety of rea sons including fuel conservation and the improvement of edu cational opportunities for students. The program reported here, however, was established to alleviate overcrowding in a large suburban school district where it was impossible to pass bond referenda for funding construction of new schools.
