Abstract
Faced with the responsibility of orchestrating an evening outdoor commencement for 500 students and 3,000 guests, this principal upgraded what had been an event tarnished by embarrassing distractions into a ceremony where staff, guests, and especially students participate with decorum and pride. The procedures described can be adapted to most situations.
