Abstract
Principals reading and discussing Plato, Homer, Shakespeare— that's part of the scene at summer institutes, conducted under the auspices of the National Endowment for the Arts, to engage principals in the humanities for both personal enrichment and school improvement. This article describes why the program has been so successful and what lies ahead.
