Accelerating Change in Urban Education

Abstract

Although rigid in their allegiance to tradition, urban schools are slowly making progress toward meeting society's changing needs, this principal says. But time is running out, and we must accelerate our efforts to effect change in school structures, in student involve ment in the urban scene, in the abolition of anonymity, and in more realistic teacher education.
