Abstract
The EPIE Institute is a nonprofit membership organiza tion which collects and synthesizes information on the performance characteristics and other factors affecting suitability and usefulness of instructional materials, equip ment, and systems. General findings of the Institute are reported to EPIE members in EPIE Reports, compila tions of decision-focused evaluative information about specific products. Members may obtain in addition special ized information directed at their own curriculum and equipment problems.
Members of NASSP (a charter member of the EPIE Insti tute Advisory Board) will find in these columns periodically a brief discussion of some aspect of the principal's responsi bility in connection with the selection of appropriate educa tional products for use in the high school. They are encouraged to join the Institute to receive additional selection information and to take advantage of the Insti tute's services in connection with training selectors. Mem bership is $35 a year; applications should be sent to the Institute at Box 245, Kingston, N. J. 08528.
