Abstract
In this article the author of a widely used NASSP publication, The Reasonable Exercise of Authority, discusses some of the conclusions he has subsequently reached on this vital sub ject. In the next article, his son, an "activist" 14-year-old, comments on the same topic.
These two articles introduce more detailed treatments of several aspects of the exercise of school authority in a period when all authority is being questioned.
