Abstract
Boasting an extremely low drop-out rate (one percent) and the highest possible attendance record (100 percen,t), New York City's junior high School for the Humanities achieved an extraordinary success with disadvantaged kids while avoiding the ordinary disciplinary prob lems. The staff attribute the success to the in terdisciplinary approach and to student in volvement in course and trip planning. Some of the 30 courses offered were: Economic Tour of New York City, Movie Production, Graphic Arts, and Theatre.
