Abstract
Aside from the direct handicap of being re tarded mentally, the student with this problem usually has very limited social skills. The dif ficulty, then, of his taking a responsible place in society after high school is compounded. Through careful selection of work sites and close supervision, however, much can be done to prepare the educable mentally retarded stu dent for a full-time job. This paper is the story of a summer program designed to do just that.
