Abstract
"From the very beginning, a deliberate effort was made to operate the summer program as differently from regular school as possible. No bells were used. Teachers were asked to sched ule their teaching time as they saw fit. Dress was informal, with shorts being the order of the day for students and occasionally for teach ers. This represented a decided departure from the regular school scene in Ontario."
