Abstract
The aim of the research presented in this article was twofold: to try to assess the impact of legal intervention in the economic sphere in France, and to analyse the relation between the strategies of employers in cutting their workforces and worker action on employment issues. The intention was to evaluate the chances of, and the conditions for, the emergence of a right to work, which at present can only be considered an 'antiright'. One of the most clear-cut findings was the verification that the treatment of problems of employment varies according to the type of economic process occurring in the enterprise, and according to the particular aspect of employment affected.
