Abstract
In this article a few important aspects which have contributed to the significance of the International Labour Organisation will be analyzed, namely: the co-operation between governments, employers and workers; the detailed standard setting; and the supervision on implementation. In addition, attention is paid to the criticism as regards the Organisation's functioning.
