Abstract
Background
China is a multicultural society. In addition to the existing 56 ethnic groups and the regional differences between each ethnic group, foreign cultures also occupy an important proportion.
Objective
Education and cultural development have always been closely related, and the essence of educational activities is the process of cultural selection and arrangement. Promoting intercultural understanding and integration is not only a practical need in a multicultural society, but also a need for individual development.
Methods
By combining algorithmic analyses, the intercultural adaptation paths of international students in Shandong Province, China, under the promotion of multicultural education localization were explored. Through literature analysis, questionnaire survey and quantitative research methods, the performance of this group in terms of dietary adaptation, linguistic adaptation and environmental adaptation was analyzed, and the main factors affecting international students’ intercultural adaptation ability were derived. And put forward feasible suggestions for the main reasons to help international students complete cross-cultural adaptation as soon as possible.
Results
The study found that international students in Shandong Province have relatively average intercultural adaptation status, with an overall tendency between “average” and “satisfactory.” In general, international students in Shandong Province have fewer problems with intercultural adaptation, and the main influencing factors are whether or not they have intercultural adaptation training and whether or not they have other study experiences.
Conclusions
This study combines theoretical elaboration and quantitative research of ISAA algorithm to consider the dynamic adaptation process of international students from the perspective of co-temporality and ephemerality, which is of guiding significance for related research.
