Abstract
Background
Public participation can not only enhance community residents’ sense of identity and belonging to the renovation project, but also ensure that the renovation project can better meet the needs of residents.
Objective
This paper aims to comprehensively review and optimize the public participation mechanism in the micro-space transformation of old urban communities through support vector machine algorithm, and establish a collaborative participation mechanism to enhance public participation and promote sustainable community development.
Methods
Based on the analysis of the current situation and existing problems of micro-space renovation in Shanghai’s old communities, an evaluation model of urban characteristic planning with support vector machine was constructed, and then the performance of the research method was tested and empirically analyzed.
Results
In the dataset, when the maximum deviation value was 0.7, the accuracy of the mesh optimization method is 0.9739, and when the maximum deviation value is 4.9, the accuracy of the mesh optimization method was 0.9453.
Conclusions
This study proposes strategies for effective public participation that improve the quality of life of residents and the overall environment of the community.
