One laboratory and two field studies of GDSS application were completed. Results indicated that when GDSS tools are matched to appropriate problems, adequate GDSS training is given, and the GDSS process is integrated into the broader organizational context, GDSS is perceived as having positive impacts on group problem solving, and will be accepted by the problem solving group. Implications of the results for GDSS research and development are discussed.
