A survey of the use of Datastream in twenty-one firms, in the City of London, is presented. The service was found to be used by a variety of personnel of different backgrounds age and status but not by librarians or information scientists. Some facilities for manipulating data were not highly used and this was thought to be related to the relatively low use of manuals and other documentation.
