13 triads of familiar peers aged from 2;0 to 2;1 1 were brought together without
adult presence in an experimental setting containing three sets of ten different
categories of objects.
This experimental situation made it possible to gather continuous filmed data, from
which the authors are able to assess the importance of spontaneous imitative
sequences, as well as put forward the social function of reciprocal imitation as a
means of dialogue.
