Abstract
A 12-item rating scale, the Clinical Skills Assessment Form, used for assessing the clinical skills of pediatric candidates during their final clinical examination is described. In addition to the description, a measure of internal consistency as well as a factor analysis of the scale to validate the structure of the scale are also reported. The results of the concurrent validity of the form are presented. Results indicate that the form is internally consistent, measures three global aspects, and correlates modestly with other certification measures. Further research using the form is discussed.
