Abstract
Davis's How Do You Think (HDYT) Test and the Basic Research, Inc. Creative Behavior Inventory (CBI) were administered to 27 males and 43 female middle school students to explore the possibility that the HDYT is associated with actual, real world creative behavior. Correlations of r=.51 (alpha<.01) for males, r=.51 (alpha<.001) for females and r=.48 (alpha<.001) for the combined group suggests that the HDYT can contribute to the differentiation of creative middle school students. The authors suggest the possibility of using the HDYT as a screening device for programs for creatively-gifted students.
