The purpose of this study was to provide parents of gifted children in California and Illinois with an opportunity to react to and evaluate the diagnostic, counseling, and other interactions they have with psychologists and teachers. Based on the parental responses to the survey instrument, recommendations to professionals were formulated which reflected parents' perceptions of essential aspects of parent - professional relationships.
