Abstract
This article is an editorial concerning the needs of the gifted handicapped for accessibility to our institutions of higher education and public institutions such as libraries. The needs of the gifted handicapped in the classroom have been considered by many educators, but their needs in the community have often been overlooked. Therefore this editorial was written based on the experience of the author with the problems of some very capable but physically handicapped students. The article covers some of the unique experiences of the physically handicapped students on a university campus, and urges the reader to consider some of the changes that must be made before education is truly accessible to students who are gifted but also handicapped.
