This presentation addresses the importance of using standardized terminology to describe the physician who specializes in clinical nutrition, definitions used by the 3 nutrition boards to describe the physician who is specializing in the field of clinical nutrition, differentiating “competence” from “expertise” in medical nutrition, defining the functions of medical nutrition team members, and describing the unique role of physician nutritionists in new medical nutrition teams.
