Diabetic neuropathy is a common complication of diabetes mellitus. The cranial mononeuropathies are most prevalent among the elderly. The incidence, classifi cation, pathophysiology, assessment, and treatment of diabetic cranial mononeuropa thies are presented. The author also includes a personal experience to help diabetes educators understand the effects of these disorders so they will be better able to explain them to affected patients.
