Abstract
This teaching plan was designed at North Memorial Medical Center specifically for the person ex periencing above or below the knee amputation. Decreased anxiety, smooth hospitalization, and return to daily living is outlined in a step-by-step fashion and is facilitated by good pre- and postoperative care. The nurse must be constantly aware of the patient and the family's psychological needs and refer to the psychological learner outcomes frequently.
