Abstract
The Special Dressing Service at the New England Deaconess Hospital has charge of dressings for diabetic foot problems such as infections, ulcers, and post operative care of vascular surgery and amputation. Responsibili ties of the SDS also include both pa tient and professional education. A care study of a woman requiring femoral-popliteal bypass surgery demonstrates the use of dressings.
