Abstract
This national study of 107 blind and visually impaired adults found that they want new information services using the telephone and are willing to pay for such services. The respondents felt strongly that their privacy should be protected and that they are entitled to accessible services and products. They also thought that local Bell telephone companies should be allowed to originate information services and products. The implications for pending legislation on a national telecommunications policy are discussed.
