Abstract
Family members who have visual impairments or other disabilities have a special need for learning how to develop and use learned leisure skills. This article emphasizes the importance of vacationing as a family. A parent-training workshop was developed, planned and implemented at The Maryland School for the Blind (MSB) in Baltimore, Maryland, to demonstrate how to plan for an outdoor camping family vacation. Targeted needs, objectives, suggestions for implementing a similar workshop, as well as a detailed example of our workshop will be discussed.
