Abstract
Description of an experimental model of a head-mounted orientation aid with which a blind person can scan the work environment with a beam of light and receive auditory localization signals enabling him to locate a target marked by a code pattern of reflective tape. Feedback signals are used to locate the position of the object with the head, then bring the hand to the position of the target. The targets can be identified by simply scanning the code with the beam of light.
