Abstract
Despite current economic conditions, forecasters predict that the economy will continue to grow and that more jobs will be available in the late 1980s. This article looks at the projected employment trends for the population as a whole and for women—both minority and white. It notes that women will continue to enter the work force in greater numbers and that their occupational distribution will continue to broaden. Thus, job opportunities for women will be more varied, more interesting, and better paying than ever before.
