Abstract
Describes a model demonstration project to provide community-based services to blind and visually impaired senior citizens. Services provided include: transportation; integration into on-going activities; information and referral, shopping, glaucoma screening, and group activities, such as newspaper reading, weaving, and discussions. Orientation and mobility training is offered, but has not been widely used owing to the prevalence of medical problems.
