Abstract
There is a large variety of educational toys on today's market. This article presents criteria for selecting toys suitable for visually impaired children: (1) Does it fulfill the individual child's developmental needs? (2) It is attractive enough to stimulate a visually impaired child's interest? (3) If there is a specific purpose for the toy, does it fill this function? (4) Are the cost, size, and noise of the toy compatible with the environment where the child will use it.
