Abstract
Examines the relative sizes of the nation's partially sighted, legally blind but not functionally blind, and functionally blind populations as a function of age. It also examines the frequency with which partially sighted people occur in the nation's population for various age ranges. In addition, under a set of stated assumptions applied to the 1969-70 Model Reporting Area data, it has been found that most people who are partially sighted and legally blind will never become functionally blind.
