Abstract
The purpose of this program was to determine the feasibility of utilizing trained paraprofessionals to provide specific aspects of orientation and mobility and rehabilitation teaching services to selected visually handicapped persons. After a three-month academic phase and a three-month internship, follow-up data showed good performance ratings (2.41 on a scale of 1.00 to 3.00) and agency satisfaction with the aides. It was concluded that the aide could be used to increase the delivery of orientation and mobility and rehabilitation teaching services.
