Abstract
The career education curriculum, which should be educational, personal-social, and vocational, aims at informing the student about the world of work, teaching him flexibility in work roles, and stressing the importance of leisure activities. Such goals can be pursued through technical training or through a work experience program. The Tennessee School for the Blind has an open-enrollment work experience program that is correlated with classroom work. Continued community involvement, so necessary to the success of such a program, is the responsibility of a school staff member.
