Abstract
This paper summarizes more than a decade of experience in the United States in the area of training and employing blind persons in computer occupations. The curricula of specialized training facilities are reviewed. Training in specialized facilities is compared with similar training in integrated educational institutions. Advantages and disadvantages of each plan are outlined, and recommendations are made for continued progress in this area of rehabilitation for blind persons.
