A fundamental responsibility of orientation and mobility instructors is to prepare clients with visual impairments to manage various risks associated with everyday life. This article discusses ethical and legal issues associated with informing clients about risks, evaluates arguments against the disclosure of risks, and describes a computerized method of assessing risks.
