Several studies have suggested possible activity differences between the obese and the nonobese. This study examined the activity choices of obese and non-obese individuals in four public settings. Body weight was significantly related to activity choice, with obese individuals choosing escalators over stairs more frequently than overweight or normal weight subjects.
